WHO: Cutting-edge magician Jeff McBride hosts Wonderground, a magical, interactive club experience, following his show “Magic at the Edge” this Friday with special performer Johnny Thompson. Thompson, also known as The Great Tomsoni, has been performing comedy magic since the ’70s and has made appearances all over the world. He has been honored with numerous awards including the very prestigious Masters Fellowship award from the Academy of Magical Arts. In recent years, Thompson has served as a consultant to magicians such as Lance Burton, Penn & Teller and Criss Angel.

WHAT:

Wonderground is a magical club experience that features interactive close-up magic, uncommon variety acts, performance art, a psychic sideshow and DJ Leo Diaz spinning house, mash-ups and down-tempo techno. The guests are different every week and you never know who might appear. Past celebrity guests have included Lance Burton, Criss Angel and Sophie Evans from the BBC television series “The Sorcerers Apprentice.”

Entrance is $10 at the door, or half price for patrons showing up in magical costumes before 10:30 p.m. Those who have attended McBride’s “Magic at the Edge” show earlier in the evening can show their ticket stub for free admission. For more information, go to www.vegaswonderground.com.

Jeff McBride’s Wonderground is a magical evening held every Friday and Saturday night after the McBride: Magic at the Edge show. If you come to Wonderground after seeing the show, your ticket stub will give you free admission. Otherwise there is a $10 cover charge.

Jeff McBride and the Mystery School faculty are the creators of the world’s most progressive magic events. Working with Las Vegas artist communities they will host a fresh nightclub experience featuring the new faces in the world of magic, mystery and variety. Every month there will be new guest artists, close-up magic, and interactive installations.
