Sophie Evans

Sophie Evans is an English-born magician who was raised in Australia and New Zealand, and now lives and works mainly in Las Vegas – which explains the hybrid accent.

She appears regularly at the famous Hollywood Magic Castle in the close-up room and the parlour, as well as onstage in the Palace. She is an international award-winning magician, taking the coveted close-up award in Australia in the mid-nineteen nineties for her prestidigitation skills.

Sophie is best-known in England for her work on the BBC’s “Sorcerers Apprentice” TV series for children, playing herself – Miss Evans, the magic teacher in series 1,2, and 3.

She comes from an established English show-biz family that goes back 4 generations. Her great-great-grandmother was a Gaiety girl; her great-grandfather a music-hall performer and her grandfather a stuntman and technical director who worked with Disney and Gene Rodenbury.

Sophie has opened for “The Amazing Johnathon” in Vegas, and has worked with International Magician Kevin James as part of the Award Winning “Twisted Cabaret”.

Her hands have graced film and television, rolling coins over her kinuckles and making impossible shuffles look easy, and she’s made the famous gasp – including Marie Osmond; President Jimmy Carter; Donnie Osmond, Naomi Campbell, Cheryl Crowe, Celine Dion and Fergy from the black eyed peas.
